Biological rehabilitation of large ponds and lakes
ACF-SC is designed specifically to break down difficult
to degrade cellulose in a wide range of applications. ACF-SC is very effective at enhancing the performance of waste water facilities that have high concentrations of fiberous, organic sludge and other cellulose fibers found in manure, slurry as well as fruit and vegetable processing plants.
BluePlanet™ ACF-SC DualPack
- Waters can be polluted with an excess of nutrients and sludge from a variety of sources. This pollution reduces water quality and leads to turbidity, foaming, odors and toxic algal blooms. BluePlanet™ ACF-SC DualPack is a combination product of natural bacteria that provides a simple, effective and safe treatment for the natural removal of organic waste in ponds and lakes. The use of natural bacteria that break down the sludge and consume excess nutrients is the most cost-effective way to achieve superior water quality.

The ACF-SC DualPack consists of:
Concentrated Liquid Bacteria: ACF-SC is a specially formulated, highly concentrated blend of important nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria that are essential for the breakdown of excess nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients in water bodies. When used in conjunction with the BacBag, a monthly dosage is scaled to treatment volume.
Powdered ACF-BacBag: BacBags are biodegradable bags filled with freeze-dried, sludge-reducing bacteria combined with food-grade nutrients. When used in ponds and lakes, the BacBag continuously produces sludge-reducing bacteria for one month.

How do BluePlanet™ dual packs for clearing large ponds work?
Problems with water transparency
Problems with water quality always occur when they have a combination of pond water, lack of oxygen due to heating in summer, nitrogen and phosphorus. The bacteria in the ACF-SC dual packs feed on nitrogen and phosphorus. The bacteria consume N and P extremely quickly and without any toxicity. Dual packs restore the natural balance in a pond, i.e. a healthy mix of natural bacteria. By using dual packs, the pond regains its natural clarity and nutrient balance.
Sludge and odor problems
In almost all ponds, especially in older ponds, sludge formation occurs. Mud is the organic sediment that is located at the bottom of the pond. Serious problems occur when the sludge deposits become strong. The water in the upper part of the water column contains a lot of oxygen, but there is little oxygen in the mud at the bottom of the pond. In the mud at the bottom of the pond, disease-causing and odor-causing anaerobic bacteria are present.
The more extensive the sludge formation, the greater the danger to humans and the environment and thus also to fish diseases. The smells are increasing. Foul smell in the pond, either rotten eggs or mustiness, comes from the mud at the bottom of the pond and is caused by conditions that are toxic to fish and aquatic life. Especially shallow ponds warm up quickly in summer, which reduces the oxygen content in the water. Dead plant parts that sink to the bottom of the pond are no longer completely degraded when there is a lack of oxygen and are attacked by putrefactive bacteria. These bacteria release substances such as methane, which escape from the water as gas.
ACF bacteria digest the sludge at the bottom of the pond. This reduces the risk to humans, animals and the environment and eliminates foul pond odors. Note: ACF bacteria digest organic sludge (leaves, dead algae, fish/bird waste, etc.). BluePlanet products do not digest clay, sand or mud.
Application & Dose of BluePlanet™ Dual-Packs according to the water surface
The application rate is calculated based on the surface area of each surface to be treated. Both products are used monthly at the same time. The liquid ACF-SC is introduced along the shore into the water where it is most affected, or near the inlet. The natural wind and the wave movement distribute the product in the pond. The BacBag in the biodegradable bag is thrown in at the most affected areas in the pond.

Note: For ponds with severe or long-lasting problems, a double dose may be required in the first 2 to 4 months. Once it is under control, the normal dose can be maintained for a healthy pond.

Each dual pack consists of a 1 bottle of liquid concentrate ACF-SC (1 gallon = 3.78 l) and a natural fiber bag with sludge-reducing bacteria and nutrients.
